15 EXCEPTIONAL BRIDLINGTON PUPS WHO LOVE DOGS

Once known as the “lobster capital of Europe,” modern-day Bridlington is more known as a quiet beach town and the area where the Bridlington Terrier was first developed. Classic beach activities like sandcastle building, riding donkeys, and visiting carnivals are guaranteed to be crowd pleasers with both young and old visitors.

Dog owners can cool off with a pint in one of Bridlington’s many “dog-friendly” watering holes after a stroll along the ancient seafront or a scenic hike along the Yorkshire coast.

THE OLD SHIP INN

Although it is a traditional English bar, the Old Ship Inn in Bridlington welcomes families and even dogs. Relaxing in here is like being in an Edwardian man cave; the crooked wooden beams, open fire, and vintage photographs of Bridlington provide for a cosy atmosphere.

Bowls of water are provided for Fido, and a variety of excellent casque-marked ales and ciders are available to wet your whistle.

RICHIE’S CAFE BAR

Richie’s Cafe Bar is situated on South Beach’s famed promenade. It’s not quite a bar, but you can watch the game on the TV, the locals are nice, the beverages are hot and the beers are cold, and you can have a hearty meal for a decent price.

Because of their welcoming attitude toward canine companions, many dog owners stop by with their pooches before or after a day at the beach. Dogs are welcome, and not only do we provide water bowls, but good mannered canines may even receive a complimentary sausage.

Only 20 people may be accommodated inside, and another 6 can sit outside at the Three Bs Micropub, making it one of the smallest bars in Bridlington. However, they have quickly established themselves as the premier destination for ale and cider connoisseurs in their brief history.

Expect no sporting events, but have a pleasant discussion in peace, since they take pride in being a “silent” pub. Although it’s a peaceful bar, this one welcomes kids and pets too.

It is convenient to “pup” in for a hot and hearty meal after a day of hiking along the heritage coast, and it is also close to the caravan site.

The Seabirds Inn is a great place to rest and refuel after a day spent hiking over Flamborough Head. (Don’t confuse us with the Bridlington town centre bar named The Seabirds!) Outside food and drink are permitted in the bar area, but unfortunately, dogs are not permitted.

With restaurant-quality spins on traditional pub fare plus a few pricier light dishes, the Seabirds has a strong case as Bridlington’s top culinary pub. They’re notably popular for their ever-changing collection of luscious cheesecakes!

THE STACKHOUSE BAR

Recently launched in 2019, the Stackhouse Bar is a great dog-friendly bar in Bridlington. And yet, despite its central location, it remains somewhat of a secret gem. Hundreds of gins and a wide selection of craft beers are available.

There isn’t a more eccentric or hipster hangout in town. The decor is a mishmash of vintage items, such as hairdryers used as lights, seats from old theatres and aeroplanes, and a slew of upcycled industrial furnishings. Dogs are welcome, and both the regulars and the staff appear to enjoy meeting new canine friends.
