6-12 Lendal, York YO1 8AA
Across from Judges Lodgings on Lendal is where you’ll find the Old Bank. There was a major renovation not too long ago, so everything is fresh and new and cosy. This is a terrific place to take the kids for lunch because of the several booths equipped with TVs, power outlets, and USB chargers. Fantastic low-cost alternative.
The establishment welcomes four-legged guests, and there’s even a Facebook group dedicated to “pub puppies” that like to hang out there.
Kirkham Abbey, York YO60 7JS
Around 15 miles from York, on the A64 towards Malton, lies the Stone Trough Inn near Kirkham Abbey. Open fireplaces and exposed stone walls are two of the many historic features of our magnificent bar. We’ve made a name for ourselves by providing delicious meals made from scratch using ingredients from local farms, as well as a wide selection of fine Yorkshire brews and ales served with a friendly smile. Pets and kids are welcome.

Inn of the Star The Museum Gardens and the nearby river provide a picturesque backdrop for the city. It’s a restaurant rather than a bar, yet your dog is welcome here. The building’s owners wanted to create a food-led celebration destination in one of York’s distinctive sites, so they partnered with Andrew Pern, chef of the Michelin-starred Star Inn at Harome, to develop a brasserie-style restaurant in 2013.
The restaurant has swiftly become a go-to for milestone occasions like graduation, birthdays, and anniversaries because to its picturesque location, excellent food, and genuine Yorkshire friendliness. Inn of the Star The Star Inn The Harbour in Whitby is The City’s sibling establishment; it has the greatest harbor-side position in that coastal town and serves fish and shellfish from the Yorkshire coast in addition to Moorish delicacies.
