Blackpool, with its iconic tower and colourful lights, is one of Britain’s most popular beach resorts. You won’t need your dance shoes, either, as families enjoy the beach and thrill-seekers head to the Pleasure Beach.
Blackpool is not the most dog-friendly of places, and you may have trouble finding a place to eat without some recommendations, despite the fact that many families flock there over the summer. We did some research and came up with a list of 15 bars and cafés in Blackpool that welcome dogs.
HIGHLANDS PUB
The Highlands Pub was one of the few Blackpool watering holes that welcome four-legged friends, and the proprietor was known to lavish plenty of affection on any dog that happened to wander through the door. After a stroll down the promenade or a trip on the front’s tram, you and your family can “pup” in.
On a regular basis, the bar will sell bags of dog treats for a pound, with all proceeds going to the RSPCA. So that your dog can have their own goodies at the bar while also helping other dogs.
206 Queen’s Promenade, Postal Zip: FY2 9JS
Daily hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 23:00 p.m.
THE GYNN
If you’re looking for a Blackpool pub that allows dogs inside as well as in the garden, go no further than The Gynn. There are no water dishes, but dog biscuits are sometimes provided, so it might be even more dog-friendly.
Humans can get their fill of alcohol, and the pub food is reasonably priced and served in generous servings, so there may be scraps left over for Fido.

ALBERT’S ALE MICROPUB
While Albert’s Ales Micropub may be small in stature, its spirit and beer selection are everything but. Real ale, cider, and a wide variety of Belgian beers and other alcoholic beverages are just the tip of the iceberg.
They place a premium on using local suppliers and try to get as much as they can from within a 50-mile radius. The lack of live music and full meals makes this Blackpool watering hole perfect for mingling, as do the many bar snacks and welcoming locals.
Postal Code: FY1 4PW, 117 Albert Road
Visit their website to learn about their hours of operation.
THE BLOOMFIELD BREWHOUSE
The Bloomfield Brewhouse is a great pub for those in the area. The beer selection at this Blackpool watering hole is excellent, and it even includes the house-brewed Ansdell 47.
Beer isn’t your thing? No worries, there’s plenty of wine and spirits, as well as hearty pub food, to keep you toasty while you watch the fire crackle. This Blackpool bar welcomes four-legged guests, and even has pet-friendly rooms for those who stay overnight.

The Miller Arms in Poulton Le Fylde is a great local watering hole if you ever find yourself outside of the city proper. This hidden gem is a country-style gastropub with a warm and welcoming environment and delicious food, making it a welcome alternative to the standard bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood. It is conveniently located near the river and the campground, making it the perfect spot for a pint after a day of outdoor activities.
In addition to allowing dogs inside, this establishment also provides complimentary dog treats and water dishes.

Built on the site of a former Catholic school, it now features one of the city’s best selections of whiskey, gin, and vodka (among other alcoholic beverages), with over 60 different bottles available.

THE BULL HOTEL
The Bull Hotel is further out of town, but well worth the drive because to its slower pace, friendly residents, and highly family and dog-friendly attitude, as opposed to The Bull by the beach, which isn’t friendly at all.
The staff is friendly and will attempt to get a treat for your dog, but if you’re hungry, they have a tonne of tasty options, including nduja-loaded fries, that will satisfy your hunger pangs.

RAIKES HALL HOTEL & PUB
Although Raikes Hall is currently a tavern, it was formerly a convent, and legend has it that a nun drowned in the garden lake and haunts the grounds at night. A ghost search is as good an excuse as any to stay out late and have a drink, so you might as well stick out until the sun goes down.
During the day, though, this is one of the friendliest watering holes in all of Blackpool, and your entire family is welcome inside (so long as the canine members of the group remain leashed).
Liverpool Road, Postal Zip Code: FY1 4HE

There’s a wide selection of hot and cold beverages, as well as great sandwiches, but the breakfast is what really sets this place apart; it may even be the best in all of Blackpool! The best part is that canine family members are welcome inside.
It is located at New South Promenade, postcode FY4 1RW.

THE DUNES
The Dunes is a lovely neighbourhood bar that happens to be part of the Greene King network, so you can expect a wide variety of drinks and pub standards on the menu.
