Sheffield, formerly known as the “steel city,” is now known as the “green city” due to having more trees per person than any other European city.
Dogs can be found all around this busy city, and many more come here on vacation with their human companions. The Peak District is close to Sheffield, and we’ve got all the information you need to take your dog there for a stroll.
Sheffield is home to several dog-friendly bars and cafes, such as the Coffee Kennel, where you and your four-legged companion are welcome to have a drink and a snack. Besides the always-dog-friendly Brewdog bar, we’ve found 15 other great watering holes in the city that you and Fido are sure to enjoy.
THE SHEFFIELD TAP
Beautiful inside and out, the Sheffield Tap is a station bar serving up a staggering array of beers and ales. There are about two dozen beers available in cask and keg, in addition to a wide variety of bottled and canned beverages from all over the world and a few from closer to home. (Handcrafted right there in the building!)

THE MILLOWNERS ARMS
The Millowners Arms, which was originally built as an exhibition bar for the Kelham Island Museum, is today a popular hangout for both locals and museumgoers.
Staff members constantly fawn over and take pictures of customers’ puppies like they’re the paparazzi. There are plenty of water bowls for the dogs, while the humans may enjoy a wide variety of delectable drinks and hearty pub fare.

THE LESCAR
The Lescar exudes an exciting blend of classic allure and modern energy. It should come as no surprise that the excellent Sunday Roast and excellent beers from Abbeydale Brewery are highlights at this fine tavern. Most evenings feature stand-up comedy and live music.
They have water dishes and free biscuits for your canine companion behind the bar, just like at any decent watering hole.

THE COCK INN
The Cock Inn, located in the outlying neighbourhood of Oughtibridge, is an ideal stopping point for those travelling from Sheffield to the Peak District. There is a park and river nearby for those who want to take Fido for a stroll.

THE BEER ENGINE
Inviting and well-lit, the Beer Engine is a tavern with tonnes of personality. The tapas and street food menu is updated monthly to introduce new flavours to Sheffield and is always designed to go well with a beer, making it far superior to traditional pub fare.
There are speakers and lights to create a warm and inviting ambiance in the beer garden, and the space is decorated with beautiful blooms.

THE BALL
Greene King’s The Ball in Crookes in Sheffield is a family- and dog-friendly watering hole not to be mistaken with the similarly named bar on Mansfield Road. They welcome regular four-legged visitors, and all they ask is that they bring their pooch’s best manners.
Drinks are tasty, there’s a large menu that caters to a variety of palates, service is prompt and friendly, and the place has a pleasant ambiance for mingling.

THE BEER HOUSE
The Beer House, Sheffield’s first micropub, has been featured in The Good Beer Guide for four years running. The space is modest, but there are two bedrooms and one of them includes a fireplace.
All dogs, no matter how small, are welcome inside; alternatively, you can “sit!” at the front picnic tables, where the friendly staff may even have some treats for Fido.

THE DOG AND PARTRIDGE
Last year, dog owners in Sheffield voted The Dog and Partridge the city’s most dog-friendly watering hole. When you bring your dog to this cosy, local watering hole, the kind staff will provide them water almost immediately, and he or she may even get along with the pub’s resident dog.
There are tasty burgers and a wide selection of drinks for the humans to enjoy, as well as board games, frequent game nights, and live music to pass the time.

THE FAT CAT
The Fat Cat, despite its name, welcomes dogs both inside and in its cosy, covered patio.
The Kelham Museum is not far from this ancient, independently run pub, which has earned a reputation for its excellent selection of real ales, many of which are brewed right on the premises, and its welcoming, comfortable ambience.

THE RUTLAND ARMS
The interior of the Rutland Arms, a lovely corner tavern, is just as charming and unique as the exterior. This well-liked watering hole features a large backyard garden in addition to several private rooms.
The meal is authentic pub fare, and it’s delicious; in fact, the wait staff may even bring out some beef scraps for your dog to nibble on, so he may join you for lunch at the bar.

BUNGALOWS AND BEARS
There’s a fantastic college vibe at Bungalows and Bears, making it the ideal spot to unwind with some craft beer and hearty pub fare.
It’s already one of the nicest bars in town, but we think it’s even better because they love dogs so much they throw weekly parties just for them. Inside, your dog is always welcome and will be treated to their very own drink and doggy bar goodies.

THE HEAD OF STEAM
There is a chain of pubs called The Head of Steam that serve cask and craft beers and serve incredibly tasty street cuisine. A keg of water for the dogs to serve themselves from is just one of the many dog-friendly features at this Sheffield watering hole.

THE OLD HORNS INN
We’re getting out of town this time to stop at The Old Horns Inn in the Peak District on our way back from Agden Reservoir. Dog owners in Sheffield have spoken, and they have decided that the Sunday Roast at The Horns is the greatest of all the dog-friendly pubs in the city.
Additionally, Fido doesn’t have to go without a meal because there is free water and doggy goodies for him to enjoy. Beautiful views of the countryside may be seen from their yard as well.

THREE MERRY LADS
Those who have been exploring Lodge Moor Camp in the Peak District will appreciate the short walk back to the Three Merry Lads, the most westerly bar in Sheffield, for a refreshing drink.
